PWD Day 2015 Celebration

Pursuant to RA 9442 or famously known as the "Magna Carta for Disabled Persons", Barangay Apopong had been very diligent in keeping its PWD organized and active. The Barangay Council of Apopong had also made sure that they are given the benefits the law requires, thus an inclusion of a budget portion for PWD affairs.

Second week of July is the National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week in the Philippines. Now on its 37th year from its conception, this year's theme is "Health and Wellness Opportunities for Persons With Disabilities Toward Inclusive Development For all"

Barangay Apopong joins the Citywide celebration

In General Santos City, the PWDs from the 26 barangays were gathered last July 20, 2015 the Robinsons Mall of GenSan. The whole day affair started with a motorcade. This is support of spreading awareness among its constituents on the Magna Carta for PWDs and the prohibitions on verbal and nonverbal ridicule and vilification against PWD.
