For information, Barangay Apopong is one of the villages in General Santos City with Public Employment Service Office. It is an advantage for its constituents for we are among the firsts to be informed of the Job Vacancies of different business institutions in the City.

Good news for job seekers in General Santos City, on August 15-16, 2015, a Special Recruitment Activity by KCC Mall of Gensan will take place at the KCC Orientation Room, 3/F near Rooftop Parking Area. The recruitment will start by 9:00 in the morning.

APOPONG INITIATED DONATION DRIVE FOR YOLANDA SURVIVORS

What started to be a simple inquiry from a Purok Official on where to drop their donations for the Typhoon Yolanda Survivors became a full blown Donation Drive for the whole Barangay Apopong. Before the Punong Barangay Rogelio Pacquiao sent-out notices of the Donation Campaign of Barangay Apopong, a number of Puroks, organizations and individuals have either contacted us for pick-up of goods or delivered their donations to the Barangay Hall. First Batch of donations received were then delivered to the RED CROSS - Gensan Chapter while the Second Batch were delivered to the RELIEF OPERATIONS of the Local Government Unit of General Santos facilitated by the City Social Welfare and Development Office. The last batch were brought along by the RELIEF Efforts Group of the People's Champ Manny Pacquiao.

A resolution sponsored by Hon. Lou Bernadette C. Dulay was passed today at the 2nd Regular Session of the Barangay Council of Apopong, expressing gratitude to the constituents of Barangay Apopong who shared their time, effort and blessings through spirit of humanity for the Yolanda Survivors.

NOTICE: Public Consultation for the Installation of Modular Diesel Genset

Last June 18, 2013, during the regular session of the Barangay Council of Barangay Apopong, SoEnergy International the company which provides the Modular Diesel Genset to the SOCOTECO II came to explain their intention of seeking Resolution interposing no objection with the said project.

As part of the process, a Public Consultation shall be conducted before the approval of the Resolution. We are inviting affected residents within the area to attend the said consultation on June 21, 2013; 9 o'clock in the morning at the Filden Village Plaza.

Representatives from SOCOTECO II, SoEnergy International and the Barangay Council of Apopong will be present during the consultation. Raising of your concerns are highly encouraged.

KCC to hold JOB FAIR at Apopong

The KCC Mall of Gensan is HIRING! This is for their mall expansion as an answer to the coming of another mall in the city. 

Barangay Apopong is only among the 4 barangays handpicked by the Human Resource Department of KCC to visit to conduct their jobs fair on APRIL 24, 2012 from 8:00am - 5:00pm, to be held at the Barangay Gymnasium.

If you are a High School graduate who may not be continuing college, you can try your luck with KCC Mall of Gensan, and save up for college. They are looking for baggers, warehouse supervisors, cashiers, among others. KCC has also other job titles for the College Level and College Graduates.

Just bring the following:

28th Foundation Anniversary CALENDAR OF ACTIVITIES

JOIN APOPONG'S BATTLE OF THE BANDS 2011

Barangay Apopong's KALAMPAGAN: Battle of the Bands is gearing up again to yet again a heart pumping and head bumping competition  this September.

So if you have a band and want to join here are the mechanics and guidelines:

1. Contest is open to all amateur bands in the 1st District of South Cotabato with a minimum of 3 - 8 members. All band members must not be above 25 years old.
2. Participating bands will be required to perform two (2) appropriate cover song during eliminations, 15 minutes performance time and 3 minutes set-up time limit. 
3. Ranking system shall be used.  Should there be a tie between groups; the rating system shall go back to the actual average points. In case a tie still ensues, the Chairperson will have to break the tie.  In no instance shall a tie for the top prize shall be declared.  The decision of the judges will be final and executory.
4. Judging will be based on the following criteria:

     Musicality (30%)
     Performance Quality (30%)

    Presentation  (30%)

    Audience Impact  (10%)

Kasalan sa Barangay 2011

Come the 28th Foundation Anniversary of Apopong, a line-up of activities will be enjoyed once again by its people. One of which is the Kasalan sa Barangay which will be held on September 21, 2011 @ 1:00 o'clock in the afternoon at the Barangay Gymnasium.


Sponsored by the Sangguniang Kabataan and the Barangay Council, the Kasalan sa Barangay is  made especially for those constituents who have been living-in together for already five years and more without legal papers binding them as husband and wife officially.

If you know someone who wish to avail such service, inform them to submit their INTENT at the Barangay Secretary until August 30, 2011 bring with you birth certificate of your children as proof.

PAHAMPANG-ONSE!

The Sangguniang Kabataan of Apopong got a lot of things in store for its Katipunan ng Kabataan this summer! One of them is the Inter-Purok Basketball League tagged "PAHAMPANG-ONSE"

Interested TEAMS may visit and submit entries at the Sangguniang Kabataan Office located at the Barangay Hall Compound on or before April 1, 2011.


Here are some of the guidelines/mechanics to consider:
1. The age qualification of the players shall be:
     DIVISION                                       AGE
     JUNIOR                                    12 - 16 years old
     SENIOR                                    17 - 21 years old
     CIVIC                                       26 years old and above


2. Participating Team should submit photocopy of birth certificate of its team member and an endorement from the Purok Chairman. PLAYERS should be a resident of BARANGAY APOPONG.


3. There must be at least 10 players per team. Players in the official entry who have not played during the elimination round cannot play in the semi-finals and championship games.


4. Players are not allowed to transfer from one team to another.

Guidelines of "Pahampang-Onse" shall be given to the Official Teams before the Opening.


Champion for the Junior Division is P3,000, while P2,000 and P1,000 shall be given to First and Second Placers respectively. For Senior Division, the Champion will get a cash prize of P5,000, First Placer receives P3,000 and P2,000 for the 2nd Placer. P7,000 cash prize will be awarded to the champion of the Civic Division, while P5,000 and P3,000 for the 1st and 2nd Placers respectively. All winners shall receive trophy as well. 


An Entrance Fee for each participating team is required. For Junior Team P300, Senior Team P400 and P500 for Civic Team. Proceeds of the Entrance Fee shall be used for the Summer Activities of the Sangguniang Kabataan.
