APOPONG PUNONG BARANGAY JOINS THE CONGRESSIONAL RACE

Punong Barangay of Barangay Apopong, Hon. Rogelio D. Pacquiao finally confirmed his political plan of running as Representative of 1st District of South Cotabato by filing his candidacy yesterday, October 4, 2012.

PB Pacquiao is the younger brother of boxing champ and a congressman himself Manny Pacquiao. The younger Pacquiao is serving is second term as a Punong Barangay of Barangay Apopong. He is set to contend with the incumbent representative of 1st District of South Cotabato Pedro B. Acharon Jr., who filed his candidacy for reelection today.

KCC to hold JOB FAIR at Apopong

The KCC Mall of Gensan is HIRING! This is for their mall expansion as an answer to the coming of another mall in the city. 

Barangay Apopong is only among the 4 barangays handpicked by the Human Resource Department of KCC to visit to conduct their jobs fair on APRIL 24, 2012 from 8:00am - 5:00pm, to be held at the Barangay Gymnasium.

If you are a High School graduate who may not be continuing college, you can try your luck with KCC Mall of Gensan, and save up for college. They are looking for baggers, warehouse supervisors, cashiers, among others. KCC has also other job titles for the College Level and College Graduates.

Just bring the following:

Series 2 of Kasalan sa Barangay Successful

After the much participated Kasalan sa Barangay in celebration of the Barangay Anniversary held last September 21, 2011 at Barangay Apopong, another mass weddding was held last January 15, 2012 at the Purok 1 Sto. Niño as part of the celebration of Patronal Fiesta for Senyor Santo Niño.

The said mass wedding is the first for Apopong for the year 2012, was officiated by the Honorable City Mayor Darlene Antonino-Custodio. Ten couples from different puroks of Sto. Niño participated the mass wedding. During the celebration unity among the community was greatly evident through the leadership of the Purok Chairperson Ponciano Cimagala.

The newly pronounced couple are:

The kasalan was made possible and successful by: Purok 1 Sto. Niño Apopong, City Mayors Office, Local Civil Registrar-Marriage License Division, City Population and Management Office -GSC, General Services Office -GSC and the Barangay Council of Apopong.

Building Wiring Installation Skills Trainees Graduated...

The Sangguniang Kabataan Apopong appropriated more or less Twenty Thousang Pesos for a Building Wiring Installation Skills Training for the Calendar Year 2011. Only few of the SK projects through the leadership of SK Chairperson Laurienz Janine Fernandez, there are Twelve beneficiaries who succesfully graduated last December 19, 2011 at the Session Hall of the Barangay, out of the 17 original young people who enrolled.

With the help of the Local Government Unit of General Santos City thru the Youth Affairs and Development Office, who facilitated the training and in coordination of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority Sarangan--Gensan Office, who provided the efficient training - 12 hardworking and technically skilled out-of-school youth from Barangay Apopong received their Certificate of Attendance of the Building Wiring Installation NC I Skills Training duly signed by Maisalam G. Macarimbang, Al Haj, the Provincial Director- TESDA XII and by the Honorable City Mayor Darlene Antonino-Custodio during their simple graduation ceremony.

Trained under the skillful eye of Mr. Jonas T. Cruz from November 7 - December 7, 2011 at the GSC School for the Arts, the successful graduates are as follows:

28th Foundation Anniversary CALENDAR OF ACTIVITIES

JOIN APOPONG'S BATTLE OF THE BANDS 2011

Barangay Apopong's KALAMPAGAN: Battle of the Bands is gearing up again to yet again a heart pumping and head bumping competition  this September.

So if you have a band and want to join here are the mechanics and guidelines:

1. Contest is open to all amateur bands in the 1st District of South Cotabato with a minimum of 3 - 8 members. All band members must not be above 25 years old.
2. Participating bands will be required to perform two (2) appropriate cover song during eliminations, 15 minutes performance time and 3 minutes set-up time limit. 
3. Ranking system shall be used.  Should there be a tie between groups; the rating system shall go back to the actual average points. In case a tie still ensues, the Chairperson will have to break the tie.  In no instance shall a tie for the top prize shall be declared.  The decision of the judges will be final and executory.
4. Judging will be based on the following criteria:

     Musicality (30%)
     Performance Quality (30%)

    Presentation  (30%)

    Audience Impact  (10%)

Kasalan sa Barangay 2011

Come the 28th Foundation Anniversary of Apopong, a line-up of activities will be enjoyed once again by its people. One of which is the Kasalan sa Barangay which will be held on September 21, 2011 @ 1:00 o'clock in the afternoon at the Barangay Gymnasium.


Sponsored by the Sangguniang Kabataan and the Barangay Council, the Kasalan sa Barangay is  made especially for those constituents who have been living-in together for already five years and more without legal papers binding them as husband and wife officially.

If you know someone who wish to avail such service, inform them to submit their INTENT at the Barangay Secretary until August 30, 2011 bring with you birth certificate of your children as proof.
